Cookie Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Version 2026-10
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Harvhills Payroll uses only the cookies it needs to work. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not load third-party trackers or third-party fonts, so there is nothing optional for you to switch off. This is why we show a short notice rather than a consent choice: the law does not require consent for cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for.
Cookies we set
| Name | What it is for | Lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
harvhills_session | Keeps you signed in after you log in. It holds a random identifier only, never your name, email or any payroll data. Marked HttpOnly (scripts cannot read it), SameSite=Lax, and Secure on HTTPS. | Until you close your browser or log out; the server also ends the session after inactivity (2 hours; 30 minutes for people who can approve or pay payroll) or at most 24 hours (8 hours for those people). | Strictly necessary |
harvhills_csrf | Protects forms from being submitted by another website on your behalf (anti-forgery token). It holds a random identifier only. | Until you close your browser. | Strictly necessary |
Browser storage
When you close the cookie notice with “Got it”, we remember that choice in your browser’s local storage (key hh_cookie_notice) so the notice does not keep reappearing. It contains no personal data and is never sent to us.
Third parties
We do not place third-party cookies. When you pay for a subscription you are sent to Paystack’s own payment page, which has its own cookies and privacy policy.
Your choices
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but if you block the two above you will not be able to sign in or submit forms. If we ever add optional cookies (for example analytics), we will ask for your consent first, before setting them, and update this page.
